Shared Rules, Scoring & Table Basics

These rules apply whether you are playing in a desktop browser or in the Android app.

Important: the game server is the referee. It supplies legal cards/actions and owns the official score, dealer, trump, maker, seats, settings and reconnect state. A missing or disabled control usually means that action is not currently legal or you are not the eligible player.

What is Euchre Table Talk?

Euchre Table Talk is a four-seat partnership Euchre game designed for a mixture of real people and computer players. The same table can include players using a desktop web browser and the Android app.

The game server is authoritative: it decides legal moves, whose turn it is, dealer, trump, maker, scoring, seating, table settings, reconnect status, save/resume state, dropped-player replacement, and host-inactivity voting. The clients show the choices that are currently legal.

Can desktop/browser players and Android players play at the same table?

Yes. Both versions connect to the same table system. The host creates a table, shares the six-character table code, and other human players may join from either supported client.

Do I need an account to play?

No. Guest play is supported. Signing in is useful for account management and Premium status. On Android, use the Sign in button on the Home screen. On the website, use the account/sign-in controls provided with the game.

Account creation and Premium-key management are website workflows rather than in-app purchasing workflows.

What table formats can I create?

  • 1 Human · 3 Computers: you play with a computer partner against two computers.
  • 2 Humans — Partners: the two humans sit opposite one another and play as partners; the other team is computer-controlled.
  • 2 Humans — Opponents: the two humans are placed on opposing teams and each has a computer partner.
  • 3 Humans · 1 Computer: three people play with one computer. The lobby determines which human is partnered with the computer.
  • 4 Humans: the traditional four-person partnership game.

How do teams and seats work?

Partners sit opposite each other. Seats 1 and 3 form one partnership; seats 2 and 4 form the other. The table may display the seats from your own perspective, but the partnership relationship remains fixed unless the lobby mode specifically offers a pre-game seating choice.

What cards are used?

The game uses a 24-card Euchre deck: 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace in each of the four suits. Five cards are dealt to each active player for each hand.

What are the right and left bowers?

The right bower is the Jack of the trump suit and is the highest card in the hand. The left bower is the Jack of the same color as trump and is the second-highest trump.

Important: the left bower is treated as a trump card, not as a card of its printed suit, including when the game checks whether you must follow suit.

How is trump chosen in the first bidding round?

A card is turned up after the deal. Beginning to the dealer’s left, players may pass or order up that suit as trump. A player who orders it up becomes the maker’s side for that hand. The dealer picks up the turned-up card and discards one card face down.

When ordering up, a player may also choose to go alone.

What happens if everyone passes in the first bidding round?

The turned-up card is turned down and a second bidding round begins. Players may name one of the other three suits as trump or pass, subject to the table’s Stick the Dealer setting.

What is Stick the Dealer?

Stick the Dealer is an optional table rule chosen before the first hand.

  • ON: if the first three players pass in the second bidding round, the dealer must choose one of the three remaining suits as trump and cannot pass.
  • OFF: if all four players pass in the second round, the hand passes out and the deal advances.

The current setting is shown under Table Rules.

What does it mean to go alone?

When a player makes trump, that player can choose to go alone. The maker’s partner sits out that hand, so each trick has three active players. The game automatically skips the inactive partner in turn order.

A successful lone sweep of all five tricks is worth 4 points.

Do I have to follow suit?

Yes. If you hold a card of the effective led suit, you must play one of those cards. The server enforces this rule. Cards that would violate follow-suit are disabled or rejected.

Remember that the left bower’s effective suit is trump, not the suit printed on the card.

How is a trick won?

The highest trump wins the trick if any trump was played. Otherwise, the highest card of the suit that was led wins. The winner of a trick leads the next trick. The right bower is the highest trump, followed by the left bower, then Ace, King, Queen, 10, and 9 of trump.

How is a hand scored?

  • Makers take 3 or 4 tricks: 1 point.
  • Makers take all 5 tricks: 2 points.
  • Lone maker takes all 5 tricks: 4 points.
  • Makers take only 0, 1, or 2 tricks: the defenders score 2 points for the euchre.

How many points are needed to win a game?

The normal target is 10 points. The score shown on both desktop and Android is the authoritative numeric game score.

Can the same table continue for more than one complete game?

Yes. After a game is completed, eligible players can choose Play another game. The table keeps the same participants, table code, computer assignments, card theme, and table pacing while the current-game score resets. The table also tracks the number of complete games won by each partnership.

What are the special hand/game celebrations?

The presentation can call out notable results such as a euchre, a normal five-trick Two Pointer, or Lone Shooter Prevails for a five-trick lone hand. Winning a complete game triggers a winner celebration. A 10–0 game produces the larger SKUNK celebration.

What do Dealer and Maker mean on the table?

Dealer identifies who dealt the current hand. Maker identifies the player/side that established trump. Both clients receive these states from the server and display them around the table or in the current-hand information.

What is the difference between Table Talk and table chat?

Table Talk is the game’s event/history feed: bids, calls, hand events, and other game-state messages. Table chat is the human-to-human text conversation at the table. They are separate features.

Why does a button sometimes disappear instead of becoming available?

Many controls are shown only when the server says you are eligible to use them. Examples include legal cards, bidding choices, host settings, next-hand dealing, save/resume, dropped-player replacement, and host-AFK voting.

If a control is absent, it often means the table is not currently in the required phase, you are not the eligible player/host, or the server has determined that the action is not allowed.

Getting started

How do I create a table in the desktop/browser version?

  1. Open Euchre Table Talk in your browser.
  2. Select Create Table.
  3. Enter your game/display name if requested.
  4. Choose the table format: 1 human, 2 humans as partners, 2 humans as opponents, 3 humans + 1 computer, or 4 humans.
  5. The game opens in a lobby before cards are dealt.

How do I join a desktop/browser table?

  1. Select Join Table.
  2. Enter your game name.
  3. Enter the host’s six-character table code.
  4. Join the lobby and wait for the table to be ready.

How do I share the table code from desktop?

In a multiplayer lobby, the six-character code is shown prominently. Use the copy control if available or copy the code and send it to the other players. A solo 1-human/3-computer table does not need a join code for other players.

How do I resume a game from the desktop Home screen?

Select Resume Game and choose one of your active or saved tables. A saved game normally reopens into a reconnect lobby so the original human players can return before the exact saved hand is resumed.

Can I play as a guest in the browser?

Yes. Guest play is supported. A signed-in account can also be used for account/Premium status and account-associated features. If a site feature is restricted by entitlement, the interface tells you rather than changing the rules of the card game.

Lobby & seating

What can I change in the desktop lobby?

Depending on your table mode and permissions, the lobby lets you review seats, edit your game name, edit your team name, rename eligible computer players, choose special seating options, review Table Rules, and—if you are the host—open Host settings.

Lobby identity changes are table-specific; they do not change the rules engine.

How does the 3 Humans + 1 Computer lobby work?

The host chooses which human will be partnered with the computer. The other two humans become partners with one another. The host may choose a specific eligible human or use the available random choice. The lobby diagram/summary shows the resulting partnerships before play begins.

How does the 2 Humans — Opponents lobby work?

The two human players are always on opposing teams and each receives a computer partner. Where the mode offers it, a human can choose/swap the left-or-right opposing seat before play without turning the two humans into partners.

Can I rename computer players?

Yes, when the server grants that lobby capability. In a solo game, the host can rename the computer players. In some mixed-human modes, a player can rename the eligible computer teammate. The current lobby shows which names are editable.

Who starts the first hand?

The table creator/host starts play with Deal the first hand once the lobby has the required human players and the table is ready.

Can I use audio/video before the first hand on desktop?

Yes, when audio/video is enabled and you are entitled to use it. You can start A/V in the ordinary lobby. The session is designed to carry into active play without requiring everyone to re-establish the call.

Playing a hand and continuing the table

How do I bid on desktop?

When it is your turn to bid, the trump-decision controls appear automatically.

  • Round 1: choose Pass or Order up. Use Go alone if you want to play without your partner.
  • Round 2: choose one of the three eligible suits or pass. If Stick the Dealer applies to you, the pass option is removed and you must choose a suit.

Can I move or resize the desktop trump/bidding window?

Yes, when the movable bid window is presented. Drag the marked grip/top area to reposition it and use the lower-right resize handle to change its size. This helps keep the decision controls from covering cards or video.

How do I discard after the dealer is ordered up?

The dealer picks up the turned-up card. When the game enters the discard phase, select one card from the dealer’s hand to discard face down. The server will not advance until a legal discard is submitted.

How do I play a card on desktop?

On your turn, click one of the enabled cards in your hand. The game only enables cards that are legal under the follow-suit rule. If a card is disabled, another card in your hand satisfies the suit you are required to follow.

How do I review completed tricks on desktop?

The completed-trick history is retained until the next deal. Use the trick-history area to review the cards played and the trick winner. Desktop can enlarge/preview the completed trick presentation with hover/focus behavior.

Who can deal the next hand?

After a hand is complete, the Deal next hand control is host-only. Other players wait for the host. This prevents multiple clients from trying to advance the table at the same time.

What happens after somebody wins the game?

The winner presentation appears and the table records the completed-game result. If the table can continue, select Play another game to keep the table and start another game in the same session. You can also leave the table instead.

Can opponents change sides between complete games in the two-human opponent mode?

When the server offers the option after a completed game, the host can choose the appropriate left/right opponent seat for the next game. This affects seating presentation/assignment for the next game without changing the rule that the two humans are opponents.

How do I leave a desktop game?

Use Leave game. If you are in a live multiplayer table, leaving can cause the other players to see you as disconnected/departed and may eventually allow the host to replace your seat with a computer.

Table chat, Table Talk and audio/video

How do I use table chat on desktop?

Open the table-chat area, type your message, and send it. Chat is for messages written by the human players and remains separate from the automatic Table Talk event history.

What does the New chat alert do?

When a new human chat message arrives while chat is not your focus, the interface can show a New chat notification. Open it to view/reply to the conversation.

How do I read Table Talk on desktop?

Use the Table talk panel. It shows recent game events—such as bidding, trump decisions, forced actions, and hand outcomes—rather than player-written chat.

How do I start camera and microphone on desktop?

  1. Open/start the A/V area in the lobby or active table.
  2. Select Start camera & mic (wording may shorten depending on device state).
  3. Allow the browser to use your camera and microphone.
  4. Your local preview and the other connected humans should appear as the call establishes.

A/V requires a secure HTTPS page (or a browser-supported localhost development case) and WebRTC support.

What desktop A/V controls are available for my own camera and microphone?

The desktop A/V controls can include Mute/Unmute mic, Hide/Show video, a Devices selector for camera/microphone choice, Retry camera after camera failure, and Stop sharing. Stopping your own sharing does not necessarily mean you stop receiving the other players.

Can I mute one other player only for myself on desktop?

Yes. Use Mute for me on that remote participant. It affects only what you hear; it does not mute that player for the other people at the table. Use Unmute for me to restore them.

Can the host moderate another player’s A/V on desktop?

Yes, where the global host moderation controls are displayed. The host can use server-authoritative controls such as Mute mic/Allow mic and Hide video/Show video. This is separate from each player’s local Mute for me choice.

How do I enlarge or resize a remote desktop video?

Use the remote tile’s Expand/Default control and, where shown, the resize handle. Each remote video can be adjusted independently. The across-table video is positioned relative to the dealer area so the game layout remains readable.

What does Pop out video do?

Pop out video changes the A/V presentation into a movable/resizable floating video window while keeping it tied to the same table session. Use the corresponding close/toggle control to return it.

What does Open game in popup do?

On a sufficiently large desktop screen, Open game in popup opens the game presentation in a draggable/resizable floating view. It is a presentation option; the same server table remains active.

What if my camera is unavailable but my microphone works?

The A/V system can continue in audio-only mode when the camera is busy or unavailable. Close another app that is using the camera if necessary, then use Retry camera. You do not need to abandon the table merely because video failed.

Why do I see Enable sound?

Some browsers block remote audio from autoplaying until the user interacts with the page. If Enable sound appears, select it and check the browser/site sound permission if audio is still blocked.

Host controls, disconnects and recovery

What can the desktop host change in Host settings?

The host settings can include table-rule and presentation controls such as Stick the Dealer (before the first hand only), host-AFK consensus, A/V availability, card deck/theme, AI timing, bid/trump announcement timing, Stick-the-Dealer notice timing, trick-review timing, slow-turn warning timing, host force-play delay, and host-AFK consensus delay.

The server decides which controls are editable at that moment. Settings that cannot legally be changed during play may be hidden.

When can Stick the Dealer be changed?

Only in the original pre-deal lobby. Once the first hand is dealt, the table’s Stick-the-Dealer rule locks for that table session. The authoritative ON/OFF value remains visible under Table Rules.

How does the host force a slow non-host human to act?

For eligible multiplayer tables, the host can use the ordinary force-play mechanism after the configured delay if another human player is holding up the game. The server chooses/executes a legal best action; the host cannot use the button to make an illegal move.

How does voting to force an inactive host work?

This is separate from the host’s ordinary force-play control. After the configured host-inactivity delay, eligible non-host humans may be offered Force action by the host?

  • 4 humans: all three non-host humans must agree (3/3).
  • 3 humans + 1 computer: voting is available only if one of the two non-host humans is the host’s teammate. If eligible, both non-host humans must agree (2/2).
  • 3 humans where both other humans oppose the host: no vote is offered.
  • 2 humans or fewer: no host-AFK vote is offered.

Computer seats cannot vote or satisfy the requirement, and the host cannot vote to force their own action.

What happens if another human disconnects?

The table shows the disconnected player and a countdown. If the player reconnects in time, they can resume their seat. After the server’s configured replacement delay, the host may receive Replace with computer.

Replacement is a server-authoritative action and is permanent for the remaining table session, so use it only when the player is not returning.

What is Game Sleeping?

After extended table inactivity, the game can enter Game Sleeping. Gameplay, A/V, chat, and turn timers stop while the table sleeps. The host receives Wake Up Game; non-host players wait for the host to wake the table.

Why might the table briefly wait for another player to catch up?

Euchre Table Talk includes synchronization checkpoints so connected clients do not advance across important boundaries with different table states. Ordinary play is relatively relaxed, but the table can briefly wait—especially around completed tricks, a new hand, or a new game—if another connected human has not yet acknowledged the current state.

Save/resume, Premium, ads and information panels

How do I save a desktop game for later?

If the server says you are eligible, the host sees Save game for later. Saving freezes the authoritative game state and sends the players out of active play. On sites where saved games are a paid-player feature, an ineligible host sees a paid-only restriction instead.

How do I resume the exact saved hand?

  1. Choose Resume Game from Home.
  2. The host opens the saved table into the reconnect lobby.
  3. Share/use the same table code so the original human players reconnect to their reserved seats.
  4. Wait until the required humans are reconnected.
  5. The host selects Resume exact saved hand.

The saved hand, score, phase, dealer/trump state, and seat structure come from the server checkpoint.

What can change in a reconnect lobby?

The original seats and partnership structure are reserved/locked so resuming cannot silently create a different game. Peripheral identity items such as allowed player/team display names may still be editable. Table chat and A/V can also be available while everyone reconnects.

Can A/V be used in the reconnect lobby?

Yes, when the table’s A/V feature is enabled and you are entitled to it. Players can start/reactivate A/V while waiting in the reconnect lobby, and the session is designed to remain connected as the saved hand resumes.

What does Premium do?

When Premium is active, the account display identifies it and the advertising system can suppress all ads for that player. Premium does not change card rules, legal moves, scoring, or give gameplay advantages.

The site administrator can also configure optional features such as saved games or A/V as paid-player features. If that is enabled, the relevant client clearly shows that restriction.

How do ads work on desktop?

Ads may appear in server-configured locations such as banners, side positions, table-rule/host-setting areas, or a points-triggered center presentation. Ad delivery never decides game state. Premium/ad-free players are excluded when the server’s Premium ad-free setting is enabled. Ad links open separately from the table.

What are Give Feedback, Developer Notes, and Game Admin Notes?

Give Feedback provides the site’s feedback route. Developer Notes and Game Admin Notes may appear when the site administrator has enabled content for them. They are informational and do not alter the rules of your table.

Desktop troubleshooting

Why can’t I click a card on desktop?

First check whether it is actually your turn. If it is your turn and some cards are disabled, the follow-suit rule is probably limiting your legal choices. The server provides the legal-card list; choose one of the enabled cards.

Why don’t I see a host-AFK vote button?

The server shows that control only after the configured inactivity delay and only for an eligible human seating arrangement. In particular, it is not available with two humans or fewer, and a 3-human/1-computer game is ineligible when both non-host humans are opponents of the host.

Why can’t I change Stick the Dealer during the game?

That rule intentionally locks when the first hand is dealt. Return to a new table if you need a different Stick-the-Dealer rule for the session.

Why can’t I replace a disconnected player yet?

The disconnected player receives a grace period to reconnect. The replacement button appears only after the server says the seat is eligible for permanent computer replacement.

What should I check if desktop A/V does not start?

  • Make sure the table has A/V enabled.
  • Accept/allow browser camera and microphone permissions.
  • Check that the page is using HTTPS.
  • Close another program that may be holding the camera.
  • Try Retry camera and continue audio-only if necessary.
  • If the table says A/V is a paid-player feature, sign in with an entitled account or use the table without A/V.

How do I copy or share an Android table code?

In a multiplayer lobby, the app shows a large TABLE CODE. Tap Copy code to place it on the Android clipboard, or tap Share to use Android’s share sheet and send the code through another app.

How do I resume a table on Android?

Tap Resume Game on Home. The app lists tables that are active, saved, waiting, or available to rejoin. Choose the applicable action. Saved games use the reconnect-lobby flow before the exact hand resumes.

How do guest play and Sign in work on Android?

You can play as a guest. To use an existing Euchre Table Talk account, tap Sign in and use the same account credentials as the website. When signed in, the Home screen shows the account name and whether Premium access is active, plus Refresh account and Sign out.

Lobby and gameplay controls

How do I edit names and team names in the Android lobby?

Editable names are underlined/interactive directly in the lobby seat presentation. Edit your allowed player/team name and eligible computer names, then tap Save names when the button appears. The older redundant second naming area is not used for ordinary lobby modes.

How does the Android 3 Humans + 1 Computer lobby work?

The app shows the three-human seating/partnership view. The host chooses which human is partnered with the computer (or uses the available random choice). The remaining two humans are partners with each other.

How does the Android 2 Humans — Opponents setup work?

The two humans remain on opposite teams, each with a computer teammate. Where the lobby offers a left/right choice or swap, it changes which opposing seat the joining player occupies without making the humans partners.

How do I start the first hand on Android?

Once the lobby has the required humans and the server marks the table ready, the host gets the control to deal/start the first hand. Other players wait for the host.

How do I know whose turn it is in the app?

The active table includes a compact current-turn/navigation message near the table. It tells you whose turn it is or what decision is currently expected, such as bidding, dealer discard, or card play.

How do I bid on Android?

When you have a bid decision, a movable trump-action window appears over the game.

  • Round 1: use Pass, Order up, or the alone option offered by the window.
  • Round 2: choose one of the legal suits, with the matching alone option if desired. Pass appears only when the server allows it.

Can I move or resize the Android trump window?

Yes. Drag the top area labeled MOVE TRUMP WINDOW to reposition it. Drag the lower-right ↘ handle to resize it. The app preserves the table UI placement so the control can stay out of your preferred playing area.

How do I discard as dealer in the Android app?

When the dealer has picked up the turned-up card, the app presents the dealer’s hand for the discard decision. Select the card you want to discard. The server validates and advances the hand.

How do I play a card in Android?

Tap an enabled card in your hand when it is your turn. The app uses the legal-card list supplied by the server, so cards that would violate the follow-suit rule are not valid choices.

Where are the extra game tools in Android?

Open the game’s Tools menu. Depending on state and permissions it can include Table Talk, Safety · Block / Report, completed tricks, table chat, table rules, host settings, relevant host force controls, and version information.

How do I review completed tricks in Android?

Open Completed tricks from the Tools menu when at least one trick has been completed. The dialog lists each trick, its winner, and the cards/players that made up the trick.

What do I do at the end of a hand or game on Android?

The host receives Deal next hand after a hand is complete. After a complete game, eligible players can use Play another game to keep the table session going. Winner and special-result celebrations are presentation only; the server has already recorded the score.

Table Talk, chat and safety

How do I use Table Talk in Android?

Open Table Talk from Tools to read the game’s event/history feed. This is where you can review game-generated information such as bidding and other table events. It is different from player-written chat.

How do I use table chat in Android?

Accept the Table Talk safety terms, then open Table chat from Tools. The app displays recent table messages and lets you send your own. Chat from players you have locally blocked is hidden.

What is the New chat notification on Android?

When another human sends a new table-chat message, a compact New chat notification can appear. Tap it to open/reply to chat. The alert clears automatically after a short period if you do not open it.

Why do I have to accept safety terms before chat or A/V?

Chat and A/V are direct human communication features. The Android app presents safety terms covering conduct such as harassment, threats, hate, sexual content involving minors, illegal activity, spam/impersonation, and sharing private information. Choose Accept & continue to use those communication features, or Not now to continue without them.

How do Block and Report work in Android?

Open Safety · Block / Report or use the controls beside another player’s chat message.

  • Block: a local table-level action on your Android device. It hides that player’s chat from you and closes direct A/V peer connections with that blocked seat.
  • Report: sends a conduct or A/V report through the game’s reporting system for site administration.

Blocking is not a vote and does not remove the player from the game table.

Audio/video on Android

How do I start A/V in the Android app?

If the table has A/V enabled, you are entitled to use it, and you accepted the safety terms, the A/V panel appears in the lobby/active game. Tap Start Camera (or the available start control) and grant Android camera/microphone permissions when requested.

A/V can begin in the ordinary lobby and in a saved-game reconnect lobby.

What happens if I collapse the Android A/V panel?

Collapsing the A/V area makes it very small so more of the table fits on a smaller screen. Collapsing does not intentionally disconnect the A/V session. The receive/signaling session remains attached so you can expand it again without treating the collapse as leaving the call.

What are Standard, Larger, and Video Focus?

  • Standard: the most compact ordinary A/V presentation.
  • Larger: increases the remote video presentation while keeping the game prominent.
  • Video Focus: gives the human video feeds more screen space; the active-game layout may become scrollable so the larger video area and game controls can coexist.

Use the A/V View control to switch modes.

Can I mute one remote Android player only for myself?

Yes. Each remote video participant can expose a local Mute/Unmute control. This affects only your device and does not mute that person for the other players.

How do I mute my own mic or hide my own video on Android?

Use the A/V panel’s Mute/Unmute and Hide/Show controls. These control what you publish to the other participants while you remain at the table.

What if Android camera or microphone permission was denied?

Grant the app Camera and Microphone permissions in Android settings, then return to the table and start A/V again. If another app is using the camera, close that app. The card game itself can continue even when A/V is unavailable.

Does A/V stay available when a saved game is reconnecting?

Yes. The reconnect lobby supports A/V, and the client is designed to carry that session into the resumed hand as seamlessly as practical. If a table has gone into the special sleeping state, A/V is stopped with the sleeping table and may need to be started again after the host wakes it.

Host controls, disconnects and recovery

What Android Host settings are available?

The host can expand Host settings. Depending on the table state, these can include Stick the Dealer, host-AFK consensus, A/V enablement, card theme, AI card/decision timing, trump/bid announcement timing, Stick-the-Dealer warning timing, trick-review timing, slow-turn warning, host force-play delay, and host-AFK consensus delay.

The app only shows controls that the server says can currently be edited.

How does host-AFK voting work in Android?

After the authoritative inactivity countdown, eligible non-host humans see the host-AFK vote overlay. The displayed count comes from the server:

  • 4 humans: 3/3 non-host humans must agree.
  • Eligible 3-human + 1 computer table: 2/2 non-host humans must agree, and one of those humans must be the host’s teammate.
  • If both other humans oppose the host, or there are only two humans, no voting control appears.

AI seats cannot vote, and the host cannot vote to force their own action.

Can the Android host force a slow non-host player’s move?

When the ordinary host force-play feature is enabled and the configured delay has passed, the host can use the relevant force control for an idle non-host human. The server selects/executes a legal action; the client does not invent the move.

What happens when a human disconnects in Android?

The table shows the disconnected seat and a countdown. The player can reconnect during the grace period. Once the server marks the seat replaceable, the host can choose Replace with computer.

The app warns that replacement applies for the rest of the table session and cannot be undone, so confirm only when you intend to replace that person.

What is Game Sleeping in Android?

After extended inactivity, the table can enter Game Sleeping. Gameplay, A/V, chat, and turn timers stop. The host can tap Wake Up Game; other players wait. After wake, players may need to start A/V again.

Why might Android briefly wait at a hand/trick boundary?

The server uses synchronization checkpoints to keep connected human clients on the same authoritative state. If another connected player has not yet caught up, the app can briefly wait before crossing an important boundary such as a new hand or new game.

Save/resume, Premium and Android advertising

How do I save an Android game for later?

If the host is eligible and the server has enabled the feature, use the save control offered by the active table. Saving freezes the server’s game state and moves the humans out of active play. If the site restricts saved games to paid players, the app follows that entitlement.

How do I resume the exact saved game on Android?

  1. Tap Resume Game from Home.
  2. Open the saved table/reconnect action.
  3. The host waits in the Reconnect lobby while the original humans return to their reserved seats.
  4. Use the same table code for returning players.
  5. When the required humans are connected, the host taps Resume saved hand.

Can I change seats when reconnecting to a saved game?

No. The important seat/partnership structure is locked so the saved hand resumes with the same game participants in the same roles. Allowed display-name/team-name edits are separate from changing the saved seating structure.

How do draggable Android ads work?

During active play, the upper-left and lower-left ad spots can be dragged to a less intrusive location. They show a border and a Drag to re-position indicator while the ad is visible. The ad and its drag indicator fade together.

The app does not reserve the old 20% vertical advertising rail. Drag positions are kept for the table session and constrained to the safe on-screen area.

What happens when I tap an Android ad?

The ad link opens through the external Android browser/viewer rather than replacing the active card table. Advertising never changes legal moves or scoring.

What does Premium do in the Android app?

When signed-in Premium access is active, the Home screen says Premium access active · ads disabled, and the server’s ad system suppresses advertising for that account. Premium does not give stronger cards, extra information, or any rules advantage.

The administrator may separately configure optional features such as save or A/V as paid-player features.

Where are FAQ/Help and the Privacy Policy in Android?

Both are on the Android Home screen. FAQ & Help opens the site’s help page in the external browser. Privacy Policy opens the authoritative HTTPS privacy-policy page.

Android troubleshooting

Why don’t I see the Android host-AFK vote?

The server has not declared the vote eligible yet. Check the inactivity delay and seating. A four-human table needs all three other humans. A three-human/one-computer table needs two human voters and one must be the host’s teammate. Two-human games never receive this vote.

Why can’t I play a particular card in Android?

The server is enforcing follow-suit. If you can follow the effective led suit, only cards that satisfy that requirement are legal. The left bower counts as trump when determining suit.

Why is the A/V area missing or locked in Android?

Possible reasons include: A/V is disabled for the table/site, you have not accepted the safety terms, the site has restricted A/V to entitled players, or required Android permissions are unavailable. The card game can still operate without A/V.

Why can’t I replace a disconnected Android player immediately?

The replacement countdown gives the human a chance to reconnect. Replace with computer appears only when the server says the grace period has expired and the seat is eligible.

Why can’t I change Stick the Dealer in Android after play starts?

Stick the Dealer is a table rule that locks when the first hand is dealt. The setting remains visible under Table Rules, but the edit control is intentionally removed once it is no longer legal to change it.

Common Troubleshooting & Recovery

Useful on either version.

Can players on different devices reconnect to the same table?

Yes. Use the same table code and the normal Resume/Rejoin flow. The server owns identity, seats, table state and saved checkpoints, so the client should return the player to the authoritative table rather than create a second copy of the game.

What should we do if somebody’s connection drops?

Give the player time to reconnect before replacing them. The host receives a replacement option only after the configured grace period. If the person returns before replacement, the reconnect system can reseat them. Once the host permanently replaces the seat with a computer, that human does not reclaim it during the same table session.

Why did the game wait instead of immediately dealing the next hand?

Important boundaries use synchronization checks. If one currently connected human is still catching up, the server may make the table wait briefly before a new hand or new game. This protects the authoritative game state.

Can a computer player vote in host-AFK consensus?

No. Host-AFK voting counts eligible human players only. A computer never supplies a missing 2/2 or 3/3 vote.

Can the host use host-AFK voting on themselves?

No. The consensus mechanism exists for eligible non-host humans when the host has been inactive. The host cannot cast a vote to force their own action.

Does moving, resizing or collapsing a presentation window change the game state?

No. Moving the trump window, resizing video, using a popup, changing Android A/V view mode, collapsing A/V, or dragging an ad are presentation choices. Legal moves and official game state remain on the server.

Do ads affect cards, scoring or matchmaking?

No. Advertising is delivered separately from the rules engine. It cannot change the deal, legal cards, turn order, trump, maker, scoring, or winners.

Where should I look first if something seems wrong?

  1. Check the current-turn/status message.
  2. Open Table Rules to confirm Stick the Dealer and table rules.
  3. Review Table Talk for the most recent game event.
  4. If another player disconnected, wait for reconnect/replacement status rather than trying to advance around them.
  5. If the issue is A/V, keep the card game open and troubleshoot permissions/camera separately.
  6. Use Give Feedback or the site’s help route when the behavior is reproducible.

Euchre Table Talk is designed so that the server remains the authoritative source of game state. Interface wording may be shortened on small screens, but legal moves, scoring, table settings, save/resume and reconnect rules are shared across supported clients.
